Infant mortality figures for US are misleading

I have been saying this for years. The reason the US has such a bad infant mortality rate is because:

1. We consider every baby that is delivered, that takes a breath and appears to be "alive", to in fact, be alive. In some countries babies have to weigh more than 500MG ( about 1.7 lbs) and survive 24 hours. If they do not meet this criteria, they are considered still born.

2. Since we do not have a Socialist health care system, our medical people take extreme measures to save the life of every baby.
